You know about the serious accident that I got right? Well, I met up with the doctor last Friday (19th Jan). Initially it was bad news. I had to go for a CT scan to see if any of the nerves are damaged. Furthermore, he found 2 holes on the retina of the right eye. I was super depressed over the week or so. I mean after what he said (that I might need surgery for the fracture and laser treatment for the retina), it sure felt like a long miserable week. I went for the CT scan on Wed (24th Jan) and met up with him again yesterday (26th Jan) for my review. Thank god almighty that the fracture is isolated. Meaning that the fracture is confirmed but they're not going to do anything as it's not affecting my vision or anything like that. However, I was advised to for for laser treatment...which I did earlier this morning (27th Jan).
I haven't been able to sleep peacefully for the past week or so. N o appetite....it sure is miserable. But I'm thankful that I'm ok now. I hated that feeling of worrying 24/7.
It sure wasn't easy. I mean, it's so difficult to keep my eye open. The laser kept on beeming in and felt uncomfortable. At times, I even feel a sharp pain. It took about 15 min for the whole procedure. I'll have a follow up to see if the holes' are closed on 9th Feb. I sure hope it will be alright. It wasn't too costly...$298 which could be covered by Medisave. I just feel quite relief now. Of course a bit stress and worried about the review but much relief now. It's going to take about 6 weeks at least to be sure if the retina has patched up. As for the fracture, about 10 weeks for it to be alright. In the meantime, no soccer or contact sports for me (that's for sure). I'm not even sure for how long I'll NOT be playing soccer. I hope I can start jogging soon. I'll probably have to hit the bicycle and the gym more often for my aerobic activity. Oooooo....AFF Championship on Channel 5 now. Singapore vs M'sia. Laterz....

PS: My gf accompanied me for the laser.

What a start to the new year....
What a start to the New Year...it hasn't even been a month and I'm involved in a SERIOUS accident. I was involved in a clash of heads with How Chong during our hockey lesson yesterday (15 th January 2007) at about 10.20am. Lesson was ending and we were playing a 8 v 8 game. There was a gash and Isabelle and Jit accompanied me to NTU Medical Centre. What I was most worried about was the depression left on my skull. The cut was right on the eyebrow. I was really concerned about the skull cause it may be a fracture. The doctor did affirm that there was a slight fracture but assured me that there was nothing for me to be worried about. I have a follow up with the eye doctor this Friday at 1.55pm. Just to double check my vision and stuff.
I'm so blessed to have friends like Isabelle, Charles, Javier, Peng Kee and Yabi. When I was in the changing room, Yabi lend her car to allow Jit to drive me to the NTU medical centre. The doctor from the medical centre referred me to A&E at NUH. Belle called Charles to ask if he was free and eventhough he had his EL meeting, he was willing to send me to NUH. We transferred car at carpark 5 and Charles, Belle and myself headed to A&E. And they waited for hours with me. I had 3 stitches and an X-ray revealing that there's a slight fracture. Now, I'm just worried that this might affect my semester. I mean I have hockey and fitness & conditioning lessons that requires me to be involved in physical activity. Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see. The stitches can be removed next Monday. I think I'll remove it at the NTU medical centre. And I really hope there's no other complications or bad news on Friday when I see the doctor at the Eye Clinic. That's all for now. Going to take a rest. Laterz....

X'mas and New Year updates!!
First and foremost, Merry X'mas and a Happy New Year. Not that I celebrate them. Alright, here's arguably the MOST important news of my life. On Boxing Day, 26th Dec 2006, I proposed to my girlfriend. Yup, I proposed to her while we were on the cable car. We took a cab from The Cathay (after watching Blood Diamond) up to Mount Faber. Then we took a cable car towards Sentosa. We just made a return trip to Harbourfront. I had butterflies in my stomach before I popped the question. Thank god she said yes. It was raining and the cable car stopped halfway through. It was...special. The wind was blowing, it's pretty romantic I guess.
And my New Year update, nothing special. In fact, I did nothing. I bought a new digital camera. Yup, I bought a Canon Powershot S3IS. Pretty good I think. It's a prosumer camera. Only 6 megapixels but that's more than enough for normal picture printings unless I want to blow it up to A3 size. With 12 x optical zoom (that's what caught my eye) + 4 x digital zoom and excellent functions e.g macro, digital stabilizer etc. I got it for $700. It's retailing at $799 at Canon stores. Bought it at Holland Village. Daniel (my classmate) said he could have got it for a better price through his mother in law but I don't feel good. Ya know, after all I don't even know her. Now, all I need is a decently good camera bag. I'll probably go to Carrefour to look for it. Anyway, term starts next week (8th Jan). Not really looking forward to it. My new timetable sucks bigtime. At least it's only going to be for 6 weeks before practicum. Oh well, I'll see how it goes.
Time to chill out now. Catch up later.

PS: I didn't update you on my last game on X'mas eve ya. We lost 2-1. Pretty good game. Pitch was lousy though. I got to play the holding role for 3/4 of the game. Another game coming up this weekend.
