Soccer boys...

...A window of opportunity will not open by itself...

Long day today. Will be longer if I don't get some shut eye soon. Again, I had 3F and 3G today. 3F was well behaved and doing their work whereas 3G was all over the place. Then in the afternoon, I took the C boys for some fitness & conditioning. Push ups, sit ups, leg raises, plank etc. they did a bit of ball skills, juggling and controlling the ball as well.

Dropped by the gym after work and surprisingly Rauf and the AI students were still there training. I saw Wei wen, Muslihah and Eileen. They look happy and ready for the Nationals. Excellent. I miss them....really do. Laiyu was there too...

Regret going to Woodlands? Em...I can't say that. I mean...oh well. Blessing in disguise perhaps? I hope so...

Unbelievable week.....

...Don't let life discourage you; everyone who got where he is had to begin where he was...

It's been an unbelievable week. First, my computer went kapoot on me on Sunday. It died on me. It was ok on Saturday night but it just died on me on Sunday. Sent it to Sun Plaza for servicing with Charles and Ryan on Monday...the damage was 60 bucks. Collected it yesterday and it's up and running again. It just feels different though. There was a problem with the software. I guess that's what you get for a DIY computer. Sad thing is that it was only 1 and a half years old. The fella said my hard drive might kapoot on me anytime soon as well. Damn it.

Monday was the FIRST day of school. I was introduced to the school. Felt like I was being objectified by 1100 pairs of eyes. Weird. Some of the students still remember me...especially the rowdy ones. My timetable is hell. Form class is 3E...one hell of a class. Teaching 3F and 3G English. It's at times like this that I feel my ex 2E4 of AI are angels. At least I enjoyed teaching them and NEVER dread walking into the class. Now, I've only met 3F and 3G once, on Tuesday, and I'm dreading to walk into the class again. 3F is alright. 3G can be rowdy. As for my form class, I have no contact with them at all. I only have 1 hour of PE per week and the occasional (not even fortnightly) CDP period. It's just unfair. How am I going to help them or interact with them. They are after all my form class. I need time with them. To talk to them and interact as much as I can.

Yesterday was a killer day. 1G and 4G for PE. Followed by 3F and 3G for EL. Tuesdays are NT days. In fact, I only have 1 Exp class this semester. A couple of NA classes and the rest are NT classes.

I had sore throat yesterday. Thank god it's E-Learning day today. Students had to do their work from home. Thank god. Teachers still had to go to school as usual. We had this MBTI workshop. Some Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. 9am - 5pm. Tired...

Anyway, stayed back in school till 7pm. REALLY tired. Tomorrow I still have to conduct soccer training cause Philip's going to CCAB for a meeting. Can't go home early also. Damn it!!!!

I miss 2E4...

Missing 2E4,

Devastating news....I'm so so sad...

...Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought...

I am devastated by the news. Thierry Henry is joining Barca for 16 million pounds. Nnnnnnooooo!!! There goes my Arsenal. First it was my favourite player Vieira. Now it's Henry. When are we ever going to keep good players. Even Arsene might leave after this season. Sigh...my Gunners. Barca has an out of this world attacking force with Ronaldinho, Messi, Eto'o and now Henry. We need to build a team. David Dein's departure was the last straw for him I guess. I'm devastated.

I just got home from Francis' wedding at Regents Hotel. Sat on the same table as Charles, SK, Neelan, Belle, JQ and Alvin Tok. The rest of the table were people whom we didn't know. Food wasn't exactly fantastic....my food I mean. Oh well, what to do.

Went to ROMM to confirm our dates with dear this morning. Everything's going fine for now. Just need to decide on the catering. It's costly, just afraid that it's beyond my budget. I'll have to do my Maths on this. The registrar asked a few questions just to confirm that everything was alright. Got home about 4 plus, rest and changed for the dinner. Ryan Fong picked me up (he rented a car). We got there right on the dot...8pm. I guess by Monday, there's no more fooling around. No more PESS.

Anyway, time to get some shut eye. Been up since 7.40am this morning. Walk here walk there...tired.

PS: I bought Collin Raye's CD just now. Quality voice.....comparable to Leann Rimes.

Countdown...3 days to go...

...Never look down on anybody, unless you're helping him up...

3 days to go before term starts. I'm sounding just like the students...dreading the day when their holiday ends. haha. I dropped by school yesterday...not so much of dropped by...I HAD to. Attended a half a day e-learning course. the staff weren't exactly friendly. I felt out of place in fact. Gary was cool about it...he didn't want to keep me for too long when I approached him asking if he needed me to do anything. He just apologize about not being able to give me a FULL PE load. Yes...can you believe it. I'm doing MORE English than PE. !@#$%^&* Try telling that to ANY PE teacher and believe me, we don't like it. Too bad the SMC made decisions as such. My bad...my loss. Basically I have like 6 hours or PE, 8 lllloooonnnnggg hours of EL, 1 or 2 hour of CDP and one hell of a form class - 3E. I've been told that it's a small class but a small and CHALLENGING class. I'm so looking forward to that...yeah right. CCA...haha...of all the CCA's...I didn't get what I wanted (soccer of course). I couldn't believe what I got...haha.

Went to the gym this morning. After that I dropped by the stadium to see Rauf and the students train. Told him the truth....that I'm gonna need his help big time. He's a big man and very accommodating. At least that's my back up plan if all hell breaks lose. haha! Saw Wei wen and the 0thers as well. Her running style looks better now...better form. Laiyu, Muslihah and Eileen were there as well. Laiyu was doing mileage, easy runs. Shafiq and Harith were doing their own stuff - long jump, sprinting etc. Renee was doing a bit of high jumps at first. I just tagged on with Charles and Rauf to learn new stuff. Was pretty much watching Nasir clearing 1.60m for high jump. That's VERY high...considering that my PB is only 1.51m. Then again, that's cause I suck. haha. Left at about 11.40am. Had to rush to make it for Friday prayers.

Might go to the gym tomorrow afternoon with Ryan too. He messaged me...about 3pm tomorrow. Then we can prepare and go to the wedding dinner together - provided he wants lah. Dear coming my place later after work. We should be meeting the caterer with my mum. Caterer's coming to my place at 8pm I think. Anyway, that's it. I'm getting hungry again. hehe. What to eat tonight...hmmm...

I have no HOLIDAY...

...In order to be walked on, you have to be lying down...

This is so unfair. I have no break!!! Damn it!! Dropped by my school yesterday. They really are giving me shit classes and squeezing me dry. I'll be form teacher of 3E (sec 3 NT class). They've given me 2 EL classes...2D(2NA) and 3E(3NT). !@#$%^& This is so unfair. They're just throwing classes at me. PE wise I have no worries....they've give me the works from sec 1 to sec 5. It's just bullsh|t that I've been thrown down the well. Furthermore, this Thursday, I have to attend an IT/E Learning course...9am - 5pm. Come on....where's the break that I was promised.

Hit the gym a little later in the afternoon. And then saw the AMK (pri and sec) school students training in the stadium. I guess they're peaking for the National Schools Track & Field Meet. Went out for dinner with my dear later in the evening. Ate at Esplanade Glutton's Bay. I was shocked when a plate of mee goreng set me back by $6!!! It's not as if it was anything special. I so wanted to go shopping (Adidas shoes having 30% off) but I'm just so broke. I really need to save up...my savings account is like so dry now. I'm so not looking forward to next week...I NEED TIME ro rejuvenate!! Give me a BREAK!!!

I-need-a-break,

F@nt@stic 4...Rise of the Silver Surfer...

...Take a chance and you may lose. Take not a chance, and you have lost already...

It was a big day for my dear yesterday. She is a new "sister". My parents were with us at MCAS. We got there early, and were done by an hour or so. Everything was smooth. We took a cab to ROMM, hoping to book a date. Unfortunately we got there just a little bit too late. I guess I'll have to do the booking online.

We watched F@nt@stic 4...Rise of the Silver Surfer at Lido. It's not too bad. Can't really remember what part 1 was so I can't really compare. The character Silver Surfer is way cool. According to comics, Silver Surfer is the strongest "superhero". No one can stop him. And no one actually did (in the movie). After the show, we ate at Breeks. Had a good lunch/dinner. We ate pretty late so we skipped dinner. We had desserts for dinner at Gloria Jeans. Wanted to go shopping but my pocket quite dry. haha. It's not even a week past pay day and I'm dry. It's going to be a long month.

I'll be reporting to Woodlands Sec tomorrow morning. Meeting the P and VP I assume. They'll probably go through the school rules and stuff. Should be an induction. Not really looking forward to it. Oh well, for the next 3 years at least. I should be heading to the gym after that. Wanted to go gym today but Ryan had some officiating at Gombak Stadium. There's a track & field competition and he's helping to officiate. He asked me to tag along but I declined. I'm sure a couple of my devils are there. Hope they did well. Anyway, I hope tomorrow's induction won't drag for too long.

ITE visit...

Why do people always assume that going to ITE is bad? I mean, being enrolled in ITE is actually good. I guess teachers do play a part in "influencing" students from going to ITE. Often enough, teachers will say "If you don't study hard, you will go to ITE". Enough said. Any Tom, Dick or Harry would infer from this one very sentence that going to ITE is not so good. Jack Neo's movie, 'I Not Stupid' didn't help when in one scene ITE = It's The End. How can?

I guess my short but meaningful visit to ITE East today will make me encourage my students to go ITE. I mean, of course if they can go to JC or poly, it'll be good for them. But at the end of the day, if they are very much interested in technical and practical stuff, ITE is very encouraging. Not only does it have state of the art technology, they have quality lecturers as well. At the end of the day, it all depends on individuals. Whether you want to study and make or simply throw your life away (like what I did when I was in school). Thank god I realised it early.

On Wednesday, we visited the Sembawang Airbase and today ITE East. ITE East is definitely more worthwhile. The METI - I think, (Nursing School) is definitely one of the best in Singapore. This human-like plastic patient is the works. It has pulse, veins, eyes that can blink. You name it, you have it. I didn't know that humans have pulse on their feet until today. I guess we all learn something new everyday.

The makan today was alright. I kept on tucking on the desserts. haha. 2 bowls of longan/lychee almond jelly. There goes my morning jog.

Oh ya, that idiot Ryan stood me up this morning. That fella ask me go gym but I told him no cause I went yesterday. Feeling the D.O.M.S. Then he suggested going for a run around the stadium at 8.30am. I said ok. I left home 8.15am, didn't bring my phone. I mean going for a run, where to put my phone right? If go to the gym at least I can leave my phone in the locker. Then the fella didn't turn up. I end up running around the track on my own. Duh....I don't run around the track one. It's so boring. I'd rather go for my run around Yishun (as I always do). Furthermore, I wasn't actually in the mood to run today. Body need to rest also...Monday I ran, Tuesday gym at NIE, Wednesday I ran again, Thurday gym...thought today can rest. Some more, went out last night as well...dinner with dear and walk around. We might buy this nice blazer top from Giordano this weekend. She like one and I like another one. Anyway, I think I really need the rest. Over training already. Been having this splitting headache since Wednesday evening. Flu symptoms also showing. Signs of over training. I'll take it easy for the next couple of days. Start again next week. S league game on tv now. Laterz.

Overtrained,
RuDy

One more day of induction...

One more day of induction. Monday was a talk about NE and voice projection. Yesterday (Tuesday) was PESS feedback and SSC talk about NCAP. We went to Sembawang Airbase today. Had a little bit of fun...especially during the helicopter simulation flight. I volunteered to "fly" the chinook since no one else wanted. Got a first hand touch and feel of the superpuma, chinook and the apache (though we couldn't get on the apache).

Before that, Charles and SK pick me up in the morning and we took a look at the showflats in Sengkang. I just wanted to have an idea of the decor. Not too bad, I kind of like the built-in wardrobe and kitchen cabinet. I also kind of like the idea of having a "walk-in" wardrobe feature in one of the bedrooms.

Anyway, going out to makan with kakak now. She going back Dubai tonight. I should treat her lah, since she's leaving.

Headache,
RuDy

Finally it's over....

Finally ended my 2 weekend MGC. Long long weekends. Lectures on Sundays from 9.00am to 6.30pm is no joke at all. Although there's breaks in between (morning tea break, lunch and afternoon tea break), it's still too much to ask for. ESPECIALLY since it coincides with my NIE induction programme. I haven't been able to exercise much as well the past week. I better get into shape again.

Time to zzzz...long week ahead.

Ocean's 13 is so-so...

I caught Ocean's 13 with my dear at Lot1 yesterday. We went to Sim Lim to get a fuse for her television. We actually wanted to catch Ocean's 13 in town but there no more 7+ show. We were a bit late so decided to travel to Lot1 to catch the 9.45pm show. It's ok actually...the characters definitely look much older now (Brad Pitt and George Clooney in particular). Anyway, it was toss up between Shrek 3 and Ocean's 13 and the latter got the nod.

I dropped by Downtown East chalet today. Got there about 5+ watched the Yo-Yo competition for a while before dropping by the chalet. Organised by my 2E4...(no longer mine though). The turnout wasn't that good. Some weren't there yet...I was told that some would drop by later in the evening. From what I see and feel, it seems that there are different cliques with the clique. Maybe I'm just being sensitive. But that's just from my point of view. Had dinner (we had pizza hut) with a few of my devils (Cheryl, Sandi and Feon) before I left. I'm am so touched by their gesture. Thank you for treating me...though I feel so guilty. I should be the one treating them...after all, I am the one working. Sandi made me choke once...can't remember what she said though. Must be something funny. We saw Jason Lim and Tobias walking in as we had dinner. I left right after dinner. I couldn't stay as I have a course to attend tomorrow morning. The girls went goo-goo gaa-gaa over Jason Lim. I have to agree that he's a good looking young chap. He's got very nice boyish features.

Anyway, I'll really miss them (already do). Now that it's sunked in (the fact that I'm going to WSS in less than 2 weeks - I've even met some of them during their leadership training camp last week), I know I'll miss them...lots.

Cherios,
RuDy

PS: Took some neo-print pictures before I left with Feon, Cheryl and Sandi. I wonder if they call it neo-prints still...hhhmmmm. Cheryl and Sandi said "Don't lose it". And Feon said that she's going to ask me for the neo prints in 10 years time. haha.

It has been a lllooonnnggg week...and it's not over...yet...

I am so tired. It's only Thursday but just tired out by everything that's going on this week. Starting Sunday, whole day lecture at Wisma Indah. Followed by induction program at NTU/NIE on Monday. And then Tuesday's induction program short but boring. Yesterday's was even worse. In fact yesterday's induction was the worst ever. Sat at the LT for hours.....can get deep vein trombosis. Of course we had tea breaks but it's just so boring. Ended up playing Nintendo DS Lite with Charles and Derrick. haha. We just sat there and quietly played. All the way from after lunch to 6.00pm.
After that, I quickly rushed to Woodlands Sec. Gary invited me to meet the student camp leaders and instructors. Got there about 7.30pm. Had buffet dinner served by the camp leaders (some I knew from my short stint at WSS last year). The outgoing leaders were the ones that led the sec 2 camp last year. Familiar faces but I just can't remember the names. The only names that I remember now are my students from AI. haha. I guess I'll know their names soon enough. I need to since I'll be there for 3 years at least. haha. I left about 10+pm. So tired. Gary and Philip wanted me to stay (of course) but I had to go since I have induction this morning. Anyway, I kind of "book" where I'm going to sit already. haha. At Sani's or Philip's place since Sani is leaving. haha. I'll need to officially report to the school again on the 18th June.
Today's induction program was so-so....I slept for a bit during the first part of the lecture in the morning. Just too tired. I think I almost drooled...haha. Would be so malu if I did. Then the afternoon was a dialogue session. Not too bad actually. But I did feel sleepy at one point. Tonight sure knock out early. Furthermore, I went for a quick 5km run the moment I got home. So it's going to be a GOOD night sleep. Better pack my bag for tomorrow. Laterz...

Tired,
RuDy

Waste of time...

I see what's going down
I see the way you always say you're right again
Say you're right again...

Had to go back to NIE/NTU today. We were supposed to have our first day of induction. It was pretty much a waste of time really. I mean, we were supposed to be there by 8.30am, which I did. Spent the next 2 hours....yes that long to give feedback. Duh! Not only did we have to fill up a feedback form, which is ridiculous, since we ALREADY had to fill in a feedback form for/to every lecturer at the end of the modules. I mean, they could have just consolidated the information. The system is just so inefficient. And then some smart aleck gave their comments. If you want to give comments just get the lecturers' contact details and tell them personally. Don't need to involve us and waste my time.
We had a break between 11am - 2pm. I went to NIE gym with Ryan. Chill out, had a good workout and had lunch at NIE canteen. We had lunch with Azhar. He was at the gym with us at first and had a quick yet intensive workout. Then saw him at the canteen and he joined us for lunch. We went back to LKC LT at NTU for another lecture.
This time round, it's a lecture about financial planning. Duh! How in the world does financial planning help me to teach better. I just don't get it. So far, day 1 of induction has been a total waste of time. They should make it more productive. At the end of the day, their objective should be to make us better teachers so that we can contribute to the students' well being when we go to school.
Hopefully tomorrow would be better...especially since I'm travelling ALL the way there for 2 hours of lecture. It better be good...

Unsatisfied,
RuDy

New shoes....

Yeah....got a new pair of GEL Nimbus VIII. Always wanted one (eventhough I have a DS Trainer XI that I have not worn yet). Went to the Asics warehouse this morning. Bloody hell, thank god I went with Charles or I wouldn't be able to make it there. No idea where the hell it was. Very ulu place in Genting Lane. Furthermore I don't drive....can be quite a hassle. Not too bad to get 40% off. All the shoes were so tempting. If I had extra $$$ I would have gotten the kayano as well. Ah. next time lah. In no rush since I've got 2 new pairs.
I definitely need a HUGE shoes rack for my new place. I asked my gf but she didn't want any. She still has the identical DS Trainer XI for ladies that's not been worn yet. We wanted to wear it during the Standard Chartered run last year but decided not too...scared to get dirty. This year we'll wear it lah. I tried the DS Trainer 12 but not shiok lah. The front is a bit wide, don't have the proper "wrap". Aaarrrggghhh...so many shoes so little money. I better start wearing the shoes...if not I can't buy another pair of Adidas. hehe. I'm still aiming for a pair of Adizero. hehe. See when the price drop...then can get one.
Whole body aching today. Really work my a$$ off at the gym yesterday I guess. Time to rest...again.

Aching,
RuDy

Tired...

I think you can do much better than me
After all the lies that I made you believe
Guilt kicks in and I start to see
The edge of the bed
Where your nightgown used to be...

Tired tired tired....don't know why so tired also. Hopefully not catching any bug. Went to the gym this morning. Little did I know that the AI students were training there as well. Dropped by to say hi to Rauf after my workout. Saw my 2 little devils as well (sporty devil - Wei Wen and tall devil - Eileen). I don't think they train hard enough. Why? Cause they can still laught and bully Rauf. Means they are not tired enough. Must tell Rauf to train them until the face all black. Then it shows that they had a good workout. Saw a preview of the 4x100m. The C girls did alright...they even beat the B girls. But of course they didn't have their first team runners. The B boys did better I suppose. I guess Rauf is working on their baton exchange. That could surely take at least 1 sec off their timing.
Rushed back home when it started to drizzle. I knew that it gonna be a heavy downpour. In fact, it started to rain cats and dogs even before I got home. My room was so wet the moment I got home. No one was home to close the windows.
I'm tired but can't sleep. Don't know why...just can't sleep. Since can't sleep...then I go and eat. Waste my workout but who cares. Eat and workout. Balance lifestyle. hehe.

Hungry,
RuDy
