My first....and possibly the best teacher's day of my life...

It's my first Teacher's Day celebration today. In Woodlands Sec, we had the ACES Day in the first half of the morning. Followed by celebrations. I received a bouquet of flowers (a dozen pink roses) from my class 3E. On of the boys "piggy back" me up to stage. It sure was embarrasing....fun but embarrasing.

The shocker of the day came later in the afternoon. A few of my ex AI students came to look for me at Causeway Point. What surprised me was the fact that they (2E4) "made" me a poster bearing their greetings and well wishes. I only had one thought...."They remembered me".

Is there anything else that I cold have asked for.......10 weeks in AI was a short period of time. 15 weeks later........they remembered me. Sandi, Feon and Wei Wen were at Causeway Point to meet me. Eileen joined us later. They looked different. Just like Cheryl (whom I saw yesterday). They just looked so different now.....very much more matured and taller. All of them will turn out to be gorgeous young ladies I'm sure. In fact, they all look taller....I wouldn't be able to recognize them if they weren't in their school uniform. I'm sure they would have dressed and looked differently in their "home" clothes.

I never expected anything from them. Let alone "gifts"...gifts from the heart. A poster with the well wishes from 2E4 as well as a red daisy. To think that it came out of their pocket money...I'm touched....sincerely touched.

Sandi kept on saying that I didn't care about them anymore....I guess they don't much. My current students feel "sick" whenever I told them about my ex-students in AI. Every now and then, they will be mentioned. Even when they're not mentioned, they're still in my thoughts. I'm grateful and thankful that they still remember me....for how long? I don't know...

Thank you my little devils,

Happy Teacher's Day...

It's Teacher's Day tomorrow....I guess it should mean something more to me huh? I didn't think much about Teacher's Day when I was younger. What's the big deal....that's what I always thought. Hmmm....I guess this would be my 1st official Teacher's Day celebration. I already received a "gift"...a set of blue pen, red pen and pink highlighter from one of my students in 3G. It's not the value...it's the thought that counts.

I saw Cheryl (ex-student) at Woodlands MRT station just now. Then I actually took the same lift at Riyan. Small world indeed. Headed to the gym with Ryan for a bit. Body's gonna ache tomorrow. Tomorrow need to "perform" the hip-hop dance for ACES day as well. Aaahhh....time to eat now. Haven't eat after workout...

Looking-forward-to-holiday,

I haven't blogged in donkey years...

Geeezzzz.....I haven't blogged in like donkey years!!! I've just been so busy and tired. The moment I get home, I don't even want to sit in front of the computer. Anyway, just a short update. Last Sat, the teachers' team had a friendly game with the C Boys. Unfortunately weather was shitty....we stopped while the boys were 6-5 up. It's just something that we wanted to reward the boys for doing well this year. They had a friendly game with Northlight School yesterday as well. We won 6-0....quality stuff. The sec 1s are doing alright. We'll need to polish them next year.

It's been a hectic week. I went for a Holistic Health Framework course on Tuesday. No freaking idea what I did there....one ear in, the other ear out. I've been rushing through with the markings and entering the CA marks into the cockpit. At the same time, I had to prepare for this morning's presentation for News In Class. First time that I presented in front of 1000 students and teachers. I'm sure there's more to come. I was a bit nervous, I don't deny that, but I think I did alright..."Doping In Sports".

Other than that, it's been an uneventful week. Oh yeah...I need to follow up closely with 2 of my students whom I don't even know cause they've been absent since like March. I won't even know them if I bump into them on the streets. Shitty right....I have to follow up on students that I don't even know simply because they belong to my class. Damn it...

Anyway, will try to update more. Should be able to this coming week. Time to get some shut eye....

It's been a while...

It's been a while since I last blogged. 4 days or so I think. Flu's getting much better. In fact, I could afford to go for a short run yesterday. Timing was miserable though...haha. Took me an extra 5 minutes to complete the same distance that I covered last month. I guess I'm not 100% yet.

School/work is still pretty much the same. It's week 8 now. 2 and a half weeks to go. A couple more stuff to cover for this semester. I slept really early last night. By 9.30pm I was long gone. Maybe I'm getting old....of course not. I'm still so young. haha!!! English N level prelim listening comprehension to conduct tomorrow and sec 3NT oral exam on Friday. And it's not even supposed to be my duty. Duh!! They're really squeezing me dry.

PE side has been ok so far. I mean to be honest, I'd rather have more PE load than EL load. Hopefully they'll employ more EL teachers next year (so that I can have a lighter EL load). haha. Oh ya, staff dinner on the 26 of August at SRC. Hopefully it's not so silly.

Anyway, time to rest and relax now.

Long weekend...

Yeah!!! My "long" weekend is here. Wednesday was half day...National Day celebrations. Thursday, National Day and Friday is a school holiday. Unfortunately....I'm down with flu. There goes my long weekend. This flu is giving me shit. I think I'm so weak. Always getting flu every now and then. Since Monday...wonder if there's something that I shouldn't eat....it seems like it's taking ages for my flu to clear up.

Anyway, I went to JB with mum yesterday after school (half day). Didn't do much. Mum did a bit of shopping and I just walked around. I bought 1 whole cake from Secret Recipe...Banana Chocolate...my favourite. Thank god the causeway was clear. Saw one of my current students on the bus (she was on her way home...stays in Pelangi JB) and one of my ex-students as well. Got home at about 4 plus...close to 5pm. Went to Northpoint at about 8pm for dinner. Craving for KFC....I know I shouldn't have, especially since I have a flu. Just so tempted. Haven't exercise since last Sat. Can feel the fats piling up...damn.

Supposed to play soccer today with Agus at Braddell-Westlake. Decided against it. I don't want my flu to get worse. It's already bad as it is. Maybe the FLu relief panadol doesn't work. Hmm....maybe I should try something else.

Didn't do much today...eat sleep eat sleep. Now waiting for the NDP on tv. No tickets this year. Didn't want to head down to Esplanade either....it's gonna be too crowded. Anyway, I'm out of here. My "long" weekend is practically over. Damn....next week will be a loooonnnggg week as well. Some idiot told me to take over his duties (Oral exam). What to do...I'm down in the pecking order. How can I say no....

Happy 42nd Birthday Singapore

Friday....

Finally...my weekend is here. Short weekend though. My week has been tiring. I'm not exactly enjoying myself there. Some idiot are acting as if I'm invisible...talking about me right in front of me (and it's not students). Duh...I'm not invisible for god's sake. Idiot. Next Monday there's a CDP meeting at 1.45pm. Not sure if I'm still conducting my sec 3 express EL oral. I conducted the oral for sec 2 exp today. 14 students after school is draining.

I'm looking forward to next week though. Short week....let's hope it's going to be a good short week. My dumbass form class is giving teachers problems. Most of the boys. Bunch of baffoons....they need to use their bloody head. Caught for glue sniffing, giving chem teacher problem.....dumbass. Might as well go and drink rat poison and kill themselves. Save me all the hassle.

Anyway, I think I have no life. Teaching kills my social life damn it. Time to shower and head down town. Meeting some ex camp mates for dinner...the usual suspects.

Weekend-is-here,
RuDy
