AISS Sports Day...

Start off with a pic. Didn't get everybody's pic as some were on official duties (e.g scouts) while others were actually preparing for their first event. I got to the stadium at about 7.45am. Had breakfast at Khatib McDonald's prior to making my way to the stadium. It was good to see most of them (if not all). Everyone seemed happy. Students and pupils both. Obviously there are disappointments for some who didn't achieve what they aimed for. On the hindsight, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger. Losing does not mean that you fail. If there's one thing that I hope they learn is that the process of getting to wherever they aim for is more important than the destination itself.A few trophies that they won. On top of that they won a couple more gold medals and silver and bronze for the relays. 2e4 also won the overall class champions for their level and the class that sent the most participants for their level. Sporty class indeed.

A wise man once said, "Courage is the discovery that you may not win, and trying when you know you can lose". I guess that's where we all need to improve ourselves...yours truly included. To a certain extent, I regretted not doing my best when I was younger...when I was in secondary school. Yes, I probably had the best time of my life in secondary school (when almost everyone else that I spoke to said that the best time of their lives was when they were in poly or JC). But somehow, I always knew that I could have been better...in both academic and sports. Obviously it's too late to ponder on it now. I just hope and pray that my students (ex-students, current students and future students) will not make the same mistakes as I did. I guess that's partially why I decided to be a teacher...sounds like a cliche huh?
Had dessert with Matin as the shop next to New York Pizza after the event. We were joined by 4 little devils. Went home right after. Started to rain heavily...thank god I was home then. Told Matin to ask Mr Fong about the trekking on Monday. I guess I won't have much to do...and that's good. I'll probably just tag along and be the "sweeper". I'll most probably drop by Changi Adventure Centre on Wednesday afternoon after my CME lesson at NIE with Charles. Joining the sec 2 for their high rope elements if possible. Anyway, dinner time now. Laterz.

Regards,
RuDy
