Back to soccer after months...

Guess what...I'm back to playing soccer after 5 months of injury. Against doctor's wishes though. Yup, doctor havent given me the green light to play contact sports yet. After all, a torn retina (2 different parts) and fracture skull (orbital fracture) that I sustained early January this year hasn't exactly recovered fully yet. I'm still feeling that little bit of discomfort....nah not discomfort...em like there's something there. Can't really describe it...just don't know how. So after 5 months, and I'm kicking the ball again..wonderful feeling. Not too bad..I can still outwit and outplay most people. Just need more match practice I guess.
Anyway, we played at "The Cage" at Kallang. 26 people altogether. 6 different teams. It was fun. Scored a couple of goals...set up lots more. I was pretty happy with my contributions. I'm still very cautious though. Whoever comes near me, I'll just release the ball as early as possible. No point taking the big risk. After all I'm not fully recovered. Follow up in September and wait for doctor's advice. But it sure felt good. In fact, it really felt good to be able to play after 5 months. Damn...how much I miss soccer. The MOE is sending teams for the inaugural Civil Service Tournament in June. I'd love to play but I'm just not sure if I should. I mean, I'm not sure if I'm ready for competitive tournaments. Personally, I feel good. Fitness wise, not too bad. Except for the fact that I don't think I dare to head the ball. Not yet anyway...still very cautious. Need a bit more of match practice. In fact, I might just head down to Jurong Junior College this Saturday to play. Provided that my dear allows of course (highly unlikely). haha. Oh well, we'll see. I just need that match practice.
Everyone was talking about where they're posted to. Seems like most people are happy. As I told everyone, Charles have one of the best postings....back to AI. School's not too bad and best of all, he already knows the students. Not many are posted back to their practicum school. So I guess we have to start all over again. This time round, I might just try to not get too attached to the students. It's difficult that when you get comfortable with your class and the next thing you know, you have to leave.
We went for makan after soccer at Joo Chiat Road. Frankly, I have no idea where we were. haha. It was near Geylang and that's all I know. The mutton chop there is not too bad. Strong pepper taste in the mutton. A few of them continued to have dessert at a place name Hong Kong restaurant. I took a lift home from Charles though...just tired. Alright, past my bedtime. I've still got lessons to attend tomorrow. Ciao.

Regards,
RuDy
